Obituary For Wanda Alice Thompson

It brings us great sadness to announce that on April 27, 2024, we lost a truly remarkable woman, Wanda Thomspon. She was born March 11, 1960 in the beautiful state of Montana. She grew up surrounded by the love of her large family in Billings and would spend her childhood summers with her extended family in Ekalaka. Though she moved to many states including Wyoming, Georgia, Florida, and Washington her heart has always remained in Montana.

Wanda was a charismatic, determined, hardworking, and persuasive saleswoman with the gift of gab. Some of the jobs she was most successful and proud of was her job as a traveling Kirby salesperson in Montana, becoming one of the first (of many) saleswomen at a car dealership in Everett, and most successfully selling advertisements for a phone book company in Pierce and Kitsap County.

She was an avid traveler and had visited all 50 states in the US, as well as traveling abroad. Her hobbies included making blankets from fabric as well as crochet, and was always trying new recipes, and making different desserts. Above all else Wanda cherished her role as a wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Her family was always her primary focus throughout her life, and she poured love and insight into every interaction. Her grandchildren were her greatest joy, and she took immense pride in all their achievements big and small.

She leaves behind a loving family: her Husband William Thompson of 17 years; her sister Nyla Mock; her son Kevin Stejer, and her Daughter Kelly Balsom (and her spouse Joshua); her grandchildren Elijah, Kayla, Thomas, and Bailey.

Her celebration of life is being held at Sumner Voiles Funeral Chapel on May 11, 2024 at 2:00 p.m.

Her Final Resting Place will be at Beaver Lodge Cemetery in Ekalaka, MT.
