Thomas Jackson (Jack) Miller was born in Seattle, Washington on June 16, 1934, to Anna Marie and Peter M. Miller. He was the youngest of eight. He passed away among the comfort and love of his family at home in Puyallup, Washington on August 22, 2021. Thomas was known as Jack, most of his life, up until five years ago when he chose to use his given name. Thomas was raised in Seattle. He left Roosevelt High School to attend Edison Technical School where he completed a Sheet Metal apprenticeship. He was chosen by his supervisors to create and build a Tin Man for the centennial anniversary of the City of Seattle. Soon after graduating, he and his brother Dick signed up for the armed forces. Dick went into the Navy and Thomas went into the Army. He served honorably for three years in Korea and Japan. On his return home, he claimed that the most beautiful site he\'d ever seen was the view of the Golden Gate Bridge from the deck of the ship coming into the San Francisco Bay. He returned to Seattle where he eagerly continued his trade as a Tinsmith. He spent the next forty-seven years as an expert in his craft. He was a proud member of local union 99 and served several terms as president. Thomas loved to take his family on car rides both short and long. Sunday drives and picnics were a main stay for his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. During his last few years, Thomas was lovingly cared for by his Granddaughter and Grandson, Tyheshia and Damon Wilson, and two of their children, Maliyah and Asia, in their home. Thomas is preceded in death by his parents, many brothers, and sisters, his second wife, Wendy and his daughter-in-law Carol. He leaves behind his children and their families: Tom, Sabrina, Melinda (Matt), Jeff, and Gary (Danielle). His Grandchildren, Tyheshia (Damon), Tannya (Barriet), Steven, Daniel, Dion, Jordan (Veronica), Cameron, Scott, Joshua, and Jacqueline. And several Great Grandchildren including Shyla, Maliyah, Asia, and Amaya. Services will be held at Sumner Voiles Funeral Chapel, 15124 Main St E., Sumner, WA on Thursday, September 2nd at 3:30pm. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to The Alzheimer\'s Association.
