Roger Lee Patton, born December 24th 1944, lost his battle with Leukemia at the age of 75. He passed peacefully at his daughter’s residence in Buckley Washington on June 11th 2019, surrounded by family and friends. Roger was born in Aliquippa, Pennsylvania, to Clyde and Mildred (Phillips) Patton.
Roger joined the US Air Force in 1963 where he served as an airplane mechanic, he was honorably discharged in 1967. The majority of his career was spent at the Steel Mill in Pennsylvania until he retired. Throughout Roger’s life, he found ways to give back to the communities that he loved; he served as a volunteer firefighter, supported others through local AA/NA groups, and has performed immeasurable acts of kindness throughout his life. In his free time, he liked to fish, do farm work and spend a little time gambling, but he was happiest when he was riding his prized Honda motorcycle.
Roger had a large family, his first wife, Charlene Patton, their Daughter Brenda (Greg) Zittel, his second wife, Nancy Patton, their Daughter Megan (Rob) Wiltfong and grandchildren, Brandon Nielsen and Breauna Patton and his third wife, Cheryl Patton and their Son Roger Jr. He had 6 siblings; 3 sisters: Sandy Elmer, Nancy (Jack) Blair, Shirley Patton, and 3 brothers: Harold (Marty) Patton, Floyd (MaryLou) Patton, Jay (Alice) Patton. He has several friends that were also his family, Phillip & Becky Floyd, John Johnson, Sean “The Dude” & Kristina Noss, Bonnie Foore, Jim & Leita Barth, Milton, Walt & Phyllis Collins.
Roger will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. The family finds comfort in the fact that he is no longer in pain and has been reunited with his beloved son, Roger Jr. There will be a celebration of life held at Megan’s residence on July 6th, please contact her if you have not received information and are interested in attending.
