Obituary For Richard Ambuehl

Richard was born on March 2, 1937 in Tacoma to Valentine and Ursula Ambuehl. He was raised in Fife, WA. After graduating from Fife High School, he worked as a milkman at the family business, Oakwood Dairy. He met his wife, Virginia, through her family that attended Immanuel Lutheran Church. They were married on September 27, 1959. When his father retired, he continued to work as a milkman for Sanitary Clover Leaf and Liberty Dairy. He had a unique relationship with his customers, many that entrusted him to place their order in their refrigerator! He always enjoyed the home baked goods and thoughtful gifts they left him in the milk box on holidays.

Upon retirement, Richard and Virginia enjoyed trips to Ireland and Europe. They enjoyed attending Irish Dancing performances, concerts, and volleyball tournaments for their three grandchildren. He also loved supporting his nieces and nephews at their sporting events. He enjoyed daily walks with family or to the store.

Richard is preceded in death by his daughter, Cynthia Altman, his brother, Valentine, and his sister, Margaret (Fohn) Rickert. He is survived by his wife, Virginia Ambuehl and daughter Christi Horton (Bob), granddaughters Melissa Berglund (Jason), Megan Horton and Paris Burns (Jake), as well as siblings Andrew Ambuehl (Donna), Ruth Richtmyer (Richard), along with numerous brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. Interment will be in the Sumner Cemetery.
