Obituary For Latisha Darlene Parry

Latisha Darlene Parry, affectionately known as Tisha, passed away unexpectedly in her sleep at her home with family on July 5, 2024. She was born on November 5, 1982, in Burien, Washington to Adella Parry and the late Thomas Parry.

In 2002, she met her lifelong partner, Joseph Hunt, in Texarkana, Texas. Together, they were blessed with two children, Callie Marie Hunt and Sentry Addison Hunt. In 2012, Latisha and her family returned to Washington, settling in Puyallup to raise their children.

Latisha earned a degree in Accounting from Pierce College in 2020 and worked as a paraeducator for the Puyallup School District, where both of her daughters attended school. She found joy in plants, gardening, caring for her cats, betta fish, and her beloved dog, Rosie. However, her greatest passion was devoted to nurturing her daughters, a commitment that defined her life and career.

Latisha is survived by her partner, Joseph Hunt; daughters, Callie and Sentry Hunt; brothers, Jon and Chris Parry; and mother, Adella Parry. She was preceded in death by her father, Thomas Parry.

In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations of support to go directly to the family by way of Venmo (@Joseph-Hunt-356). This money will be used to help cover immediate expenses and provide flexibility in the return to work.

A public, open memorial service will be held on Friday, July 19th between 11am-3pm, at Sumner Voiles Funeral Chapel: 15124 Main St E, Sumner, WA, 98390.

Tish was an incredibly sweet, caring soul and I'm grateful to have worked alongside her at the Woo! She joined our classroom with an open and positive mindset and was willing to get to know and help support our kids who can be very challenging. I appreciate how she took the time and care to get to know our students. She would listen to their stories and hear about their interests while playing games or doing an activity they enjoyed. Her presence made those around her feel loved and comforted. We sure shared some fun and crazy stories from school! Each morning Sentry would play with the other staff kids and it was fun seeing them have fun and share laughs, even though they had to come to school earlier than normal. Sentry is welcome in our room! I'm grateful for that big hug on the last day of school. I will greatly miss Tisha and my heart aches for your family for this big loss. Thank you for including us at her service. We hope both girls feel loved and supported as they return to school in the fall. There are many people who know them and care about them! Our community is here to help.

Tisha had a wonderful sense of humor. She was usually quiet at school but then she'd pop off an unexpected comment that would make you laugh. I wish I had more time to get to know her more.

Latisha and I love the same man-my son. From the start her love for him shone...she rode happily and laughing in his many vehicles from a dying Jeep to a shmancy fancy car his dad called the pimpmobile. If Joseph was in it she loved it. She loved him and their children fiercely Together they bounced from 4 wheeling to sailing. I remember her laughing as she battled the sails. She loved. Her husband, her girls, her mom and family and she gave them all her best Her home was filled with colors, lights art, dogs and cats. She celebrated whimsy with fairies , gnomes and an elf named Sally. She made the best fudge in the world I miss her so much

I'm going to miss our random hallway conversations, her jokes, walks out to our cars, our daily chatting, her helpfulness, kindness, laughter, how giving she was, and her awesome ideas. She was absolutely an amazing friend. She brought a smile to everyone's face.

I was new to a small town school. Sitting on the first day of six grade against the wall kinda talking to so girl. When these two girls walk up to me and asked me if I would like to walk with them. I said yes those two girls were Latisha and katrece. I had no idea that that was the beginning of a life long friendship. Now we had not always stayed in touch in fact there were years Latisha and I did not speak because well life happens. But when we did it was like no time had past. She was one of the sweetest people I have ever known. Well there was this one time in seventh grade she bit me but that story is for another day. LATISHA my heart hurts for your children and husband and it hurts cuz I know even tho the next time we see each other it will be like no time had past for you the years I may have in this life will feel like forever. Till we meet again my dearest sweet friend. I love you.
