Brandon Roy Hill, born September 20, 1985, in Pocatello, Idaho, to Roscoe and Sabrina Hill, passed away on January 1, 2025, in Orting, Washington.
Brandon attended school in Pocatello before enlisting in the United States Army in July 2004. He completed basic training at Fort Jackson, South Carolina, in September 2004, followed by Advanced Individual Training as a Transportation Specialist at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri, in December 2004.
His military service took him to Mannheim, Germany, and later to Bagram Airbase in Afghanistan in March 2005. Brandon returned to Mannheim in 2006, was promoted to the rank of Sergeant in January 2007, and was honorably discharged in November 2008 from Fort Lewis.
During the final years of his Army career, Brandon met the love of his life, Cecilia Skinner. They were married on July 27, 2007, in Tacoma, Washington. Together, they purchased their first home in Orting, Washington, nestled across from the picturesque Carbon River. Brandon took great pride in their home, enjoying numerous improvement projects with his best friend Eric, including installing an epoxy floor in the garage and creating a rock-and-epoxy patio.
Brandon was an avid outdoorsman with hobbies that included fishing, hunting, fly tying, and rock tumbling. A passionate cook, he found immense joy in preparing meals for his family and friends. Above all, he cherished his wife Cecilia and their dogs, creating a life filled with love, family and friends.
When Brandon married Cecilia, he gained a loving extended family that included Cecilia’s parents, siblings, and nieces and nephews, all of whom welcomed him with open arms. He cherished the bonds he formed with his new family, especially his father-in-law Stan Skinner, and enjoyed being part of their lives and celebrations. He had a particularly close bond with his nieces Mikayla and Madelynn and his nephews Alex and Anthony.
Brandon is survived by his wife Cecilia and their beloved dog Zoey; his parents, Roscoe and Sabrina Hill; grandmother, Linda Allen; and stepsiblings, RayAnn (Willie Joe), Avery (Nancy), and Luke (Mona). He is also survived by several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Max Allen and Howard Fullenwider, and his grandmother, Annie Fullenwider. His grandfather, Max Allen, whom he considered his hero, was his lifelong inspiration, and they shared a special connection as “two peas in a pod.”
