Bradley Miles Woodard, age 31, reluctantly departed this world at Valley Medical Center on June 16, 2021 surrounded by his mother, best friend Austin Mosier and cousin Anna Anderson.
He was born in Burien, WA on October 30, 1989 and spent his early years in Renton and Maple Valley before moving to Kent, WA in 1997 where he lived until his death.
Anyone who knew Brad would tell you how full of life and humor he was. He was very hyperactive in his childhood and was no stranger to trouble! As he grew he was able to channel his energy into sports. He participated in youth baseball, basketball and track, but his true happiness was found at Kent Meridian High School where he joined wrestling and spent many happy hours on the mats. At the time he dreamed of becoming a professional wrestler and wrestling was his #1 topic of conversation for many years.
As an adult his love of sports continued. He was a true blue fan of the Mariners and Seahawks and was very much looking forward to Seattle’s new hockey team, the Kracken. He also loved gaming and had grown a large network of online gaming friends, several of whom were true friends and not just online acquaintances.
Brad had an uncanny knack for doing voices. His imitations of current political figures as well as fictitious ones made for much joy and laughter.
But the greatest part of Bradley’s life was his son, Ty’Vonn, whom we all call TJ. Bradley was a wonderful, loving, caring father and TJ loved him fiercely. The bond between them was unbreakable and even though Brad would openly admit to being a “helicopter parent” there was no denying the deep, true love between them. Bradley’s proudest achievement in life was being TJ’s daddy and even though TJ is autistic and non-verbal, he loves his daddy so much and it is obvious he misses him every day.
Near the end, Brad sensed that he would not be around much longer even though his family was in denial. He shed tears over not being able to watch TJ grow and extracted promises from his mother to help take care of TJ as long as possible and to make sure that he never touched so much as a drop of alcohol. He did not want to leave his son, that was made clear over and over. Brad wanted nothing more than to see TJ grow up and was so afraid that being so young TJ may forget him.
Bradley is survived by his son Ty’Vonn (TJ) Woodard, mother Cathy Woodard, sister Janae Woodard and several loving aunts, uncles and cousins.
There will be a viewing on June 29th at 2:00 pm at Sumner Voiles Funeral Chapel, 15124 Main Street East, Sumner, WA 98390. This will be followed by a service at 3:00.
Donations may be made in his name to Seattle Children’s Autism Center.
