Obituary For Toby Lee Richardson

It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Toby Lee Richardson, who left us on June 17, 2024, in Sumner, WA, at the age of 55. Toby was born on November 27, 1968, in Salt Lake City, UT, to Kathleen Hazel Richardson and Paul William Richardson.

Toby spent his formative years in Ogden, Utah, where he graduated from Weber High School. He furthered his education at Job Corps in Montana, training as a welder, and later graduated from Renton Technical College with a certification in Commercial Building Engineering. Toby was also a certified Boilermaker.

His career spanned various roles, including Building Engineer, a significant tenure at Dawn Foods in the Pacific Northwest Bakery, and his latest position at the Port of Seattle. Throughout his career, Toby was known for his dedication, hard work, and expertise.

Toby's family life was rich and fulfilling. He is survived by his children: Jonathan Richardson, Jeramie Richardson, Kelsie Trotignon, and Jacob Richardson, as well as his beloved grandchildren: Jaxson, Jaden, Josi, and Jonathan. Toby was a devoted father who took immense pride in his children’s achievements and supported them wholeheartedly. He cherished coaching their baseball and football teams, embodying the roles of both mentor and steadfast supporter.

Toby's life journey took him from Ogden to Job Corps in Montana, then to Nevada, and ultimately to Washington, where he built his family and life. He was a man of many interests, playing amateur baseball, enjoying fishing trips with his close friend Ray Sherman, golfing, and indulging in numerous maintenance and construction projects. Toby's hands were seldom idle, as he thrived on being busy and productive.

In 2016, Toby settled in Sumner, Washington, embracing the community and nurturing his family life. His two dogs, Bandit and Bo, were his constant companions on mountain adventures and long riverside walks, reflecting his love for the outdoors. Toby's vibrant personality and caring nature left a lasting impression on all who knew him.

Toby is also survived by his parents, Kathleen and Paul Richardson, who remember him as a loving son. His legacy of love, dedication, and resilience will continue to inspire his family and friends.

A viewing will be held at 10:00 AM, followed by Funeral Services at 11:00 AM, on Monday, June 24, 2024, at Sumner Voiles Funeral Chapel: 15124 Main St E, Sumner, WA, 98390.

We invite those who knew Toby to join us in celebrating his life and to share their memories, offering comfort and support to his grieving family.

Toby will be deeply missed but never forgotten, as his spirit and the memories he created will live on in our hearts forever.
