Obituary For Patricia Ainslie

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of our beloved Patricia “Pat” Ainslie. She passed away peacefully on September 30, 2024 at 9:30 AM in Puyallup, Washington due to complications with bilateral lung clots & chronic lung disease with her daughter Jessica, grandson Kyle and son-in-law Jay by her side.

Pat is survived by her children, Jessica Scates (Jay); Joseph Longbine; 4 grandchildren, Kyle K. (Jessica), Briana Longbine (Joseph), Alex Longbine (Joseph), Emily Longbine (Joseph); brothers Bill, Steve, Rocky & Wayne, sister Renita, 3 great grandchildren, Greyson, Myla and Isaac and many many friends that Pat made her family.

Patricia also known as, Pat, Patty, Aunt Pat & Mama Pat was born June 6, 1957 in Chicago, IL, she was the 4th of 8 children to Barbra and Leonard Miller. She graduated from Fremont High School in Nebraska in 1976, she then got married to James Longbine right after high school & moved to Germany where her daughter was born. Upon returning to the states, her son Joseph was born in Kansas in 1979, then they got stationed to Ft. Lewis, WA. Shortly after their arrival, they divorced & she decided the Tacoma area is where she would plant her roots. Pat lived the majority of her life in Tacoma & Graham, WA. area. She did not have an easy life but she has always been a fighter from her early childhood years to the end. She had to overcome extreme obstacles & she did them all with a forgiving heart & a smile.

She met Jim Ainslie while she was on a dart league & he was on a pool league playing at a local bar, as if it was just meant to be. They got married in 1992 but sadly divorced in 2002 but always remained close friends. She spent the remaining 45 years of her life in the pierce county area touching SO many with her generosity & kindness.

Her career as a cashier was the perfect job for her due to her love for socializing & talking. If you were lucky enough to meet Pat, then you immediately gained a lifelong friend & she left a lasting impression. She never met a stranger!! Some of her hobbies included bingo, darts, bowling, spending time with family & socializing. Her passion was making homemade gifts by baking Christmas treats, crocheting blankets, hats, scarves etc, diamond dot paintings & DIY craft projects and giving them away. She always thought of others even when she was in the hospital this past week, she was making a hat for a family members new baby.

In the final years of her life, Pat moved in with her daughter (Jessica) and her husband (Jay). Both took on the care taker role to provide Pat with the best quality of life after beating bilateral breast cancer & suffering from chronic lung diseases. Jessica was care taking for both her mom & dad in her home for the last several years and now her heart and home is empty without them. Pat & Jim were best friends & spent both of their remaining years living together with their daughter. Memories Jessica will forever cherish!

A celebration of life will be held at a later date in June 2025 in Puyallup, WA.

I am so lucky and blessed to have known your amazing mom! Being best friends for over 40 years was a privilege I'll always treasure. We had wonderful conversations and memories to look back on and remember the special moments that entwined our friendship. Pat went through a lot in her life and she was a warrior in all her battles. In our earlier years we would love to dance to music of our favorite bands She was the sweetest and most giving soul and had the most amazing smile. I will miss her every moment that goes by and she is now watching over us all no longer in pain and dancing in heaven. 💔💝🦋

I am so very sorry for your loss. It saddens me that she is gone but now she can breathe easily again. She always showed the girls and myself so much love. I enjoyed shopping with her, in search for her precious porcelain dolls. I remember taking her with the girls to see Katy Perry. We had such a wonderful time making memories. I am so happy that we spoke and shared our memories and love. Peace be with you. Love Angie

I don't feel like this real life at all. Losing you & my dad 4 months apart to the date, hurts more than words can express.💔 I'm going to miss your sassiness, your kind & forgiving heart. I'm going to miss hearing your loud heavy footsteps throughout the night 😂 I'm going to miss my pedicure partner & 90 day fiance' watching buddy! I will forever watch the movie "Smokey Mountain Christmas" & listen to Hard Candy Christmas by Dolly Parton every year in honor of you! I am going to miss YOU & you always being there for me. I was blessed to be your daughter. I love you past forever Mom 🦋💜I can only imagine the reunion with your family in heaven & meeting the Lord! I bet it was magical! 🌟
