Denise Lynn Merchant passed away unexpectedly on August 10, 2024 at the age of 67. She was born at St Joseph Hospital in Tacoma, Washington on January 21, 1957. She was preceded in death by her parents Eugene “Tom” Royne and (Norma White) Royne, and Denise’s Son’s father and her longtime partner Lance Clark. She is survived by her son Joshua Clark, sister Debbie (Jim) Gunder, Niece Crystal Gunder, and Nephew Jeremiah (Danielle) Gunder.
Denise devoted most of her adult life working at NW Door Co., JL Darling (screen print), Taylor Farms (produce), and Norvanco doing piecework.
She loved her pet cats, nurturing her potted plants and putting puzzles together. Christmas was one of her favorite Holidays. She loved the decorating, sending Christmas cards, and spending time with family and friends. She enjoyed playing “White Elephant” on Christmas Day with her son Josh, her sister and their family. Denise was notorious for giving everyone chocolate cherries and gift packs of assorted peanuts (which everyone will miss). She had a warm heart and was always kind to everyone. Most of all, Denise loved her son Joshua to the moon and back. The beach and lake was always her happy place.
Life will not be the same without her. She will be missed greatly.
