The last thing a family member wants to experience is the death of a loved one. Dealing with death can overwhelm families, making it harder to make decisions. Don’t worry; our staff at Sumner Voiles can help. We have the tools and experience to honor a loved one’s final wishes and to ensure stress-free cremation, memorial or burial.
After the death of a loved one, it can be difficult for family members to plan for a cremation or funeral. With our quick online arrangement, there’s no need to visit our funeral chapel to arrange a cremation. Family members can fill out our online form to book a cremation or memorial service. Just answer a few questions and provide us with personal details so a funeral director can get in touch with the next steps.
Families that don’t have enough funds to pay for cremation services can inquire about financing through Memorial Funding. Monevo, Memorial Funding’s partner, offers an online tool to search multiple banks and send personalized loan offers to applicants. Monevo will present personal details provided by the applicant to banks and other lenders to determine if the client qualifies for a loan. Interested applicants can apply for financing at our funeral chapel or online.
We offer two cremation options for families. Our clients can pay the one-time fee for the service or opt for the installment option.
Fire-based cremation involves placing the deceased inside a retort where intense heat reduces the remains to bone fragments and ash. At Sumner Voiles, we provide family members with many choices of urn styles or a plastic urn to store a loved one’s ashes.
In a fire-based cremation, we first refrigerate the body until we get the approval to cremate the deceased. Once we have all the documents, our staff will preheat the incinerator to about 1,000 degrees F and transfer the body into the cremation chamber. Fire-based cremation usually takes about one to three hours, depending on the bone structure of the deceased.
We have our own crematory and our staff strictly adhere to the cremation procedures. To comply with the law, we only cremate one body at a time and use positive identification system to ensure the integrity of our process.
Our physical address is on our main homepage. Just scroll down to the bottom of the page to see the address. Feel free to contact us via telephone to arrange a cremation, funeral or memorial service for a loved one.
We need the death certificate of the deceased and cremation approval from the County. Our funeral director can help obtain copies of the death certificates and other documents to start the cremation process.
At Sumner Voiles, our customers can choose from three different arrangements. After registering a cremation plan, a dedicated funeral director will discuss the next steps and how the process works. Choose from these plans:
Direct Cremation
With the direct cremation plan, family members get a utility vehicle for transferring the remains, and we provide families with a plastic urn to store the ashes. Refrigeration of the unembalmed remains is also included in this package along with an online obituary listing and Eternity’s Touch™ Fingerprinting. Embalming isn’t required by law. It may be necessary when family members wish to have a funeral viewing but it’s usually not needed for direct cremation or immediate burial.
Cremation Followed by Memorial Service
For this arrangement, clients get all the services included in the Direct Cremation plus private viewing and memorial service. We recommend this for those who want to save money as booking a separate memorial may be more expensive.
Funeral Ceremony Followed by Cremation
Some families honor their loved ones by arranging a funeral. For this arrangement, family members can use our chapel for the funeral ceremony. Note that there’s an additional charge for those who prefer to have the ceremony outside our funeral chapel. For this arrangement, our staff handles everything including embalming, dressing, cosmetizing and cremation.
Feel free to speak to our funeral directors for more information about our cremation services.
