The unexpected death of a loved one can be devastating to some people, and planning a cremation or memorial is a painful process. Our team at Sumner Voiles can ease your burden by helping you decide what’s best for your family member.
You can easily book a cremation with our online tool. Just click Get a Quote and the system will ask you 6 to 8 brief questions and build a personalized quote for you. You’ll be assigned an experienced funeral director to discuss what needs to be done on your end. We cremate seven days a week, and our staff can perform the cremation once we have all the required documents and the county’s approval. Our staff also strictly adheres to our cremation process and rules, so rest assured that you will receive the ashes of your loved ones.
Cremation is a method of disposing of a dead body to bone fragments using water or high heat. The process usually takes about one to three hours, depending on the weight and size of the body. Sumner Voiles offers two types of cremation services:
In a fire-based cremation, the body is placed in a cremation chamber with high heat to reduce the body into bone remains. After receiving your loved one’s dead body, we first store it in a temperature-controlled room until we get a cremation approval. We prepare the body by removing any implanted medical devices with a battery or pacemakers that can explode in high heat. Our staff will then transfer the body to the cremating chamber to start the cremation process.
Once the body is cremated, any fillings or hip replacements are recycled, as they can interfere with processing of the cremated remains. The remains are then pulverized and poured into an urn. An average human body can produce about 3 to 9 pounds of ash, depending on its bone structure. Don’t worry; we can provide you with an urn for your loved one’s ashes.
Whether you’re pre-planning a cremation for yourself or a loved one, or a family member has just died, we have the tools to make the process quicker and easier for you.
Feel free to visit Sumner Voiles Funeral Chapel to arrange a cremation or pre-plan a cremation. Our staff is more than happy to assist you with any funeral arrangements you need. You can also complete our online form for your cremation plans.
Your funeral director will provide you with all the documents needed to get cremation approval. A physician will also need to sign the death certificate. We will only perform the cremation when we have all the documents and after getting approval. Our staff will walk you through the process. If you need clarification, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with us anytime.

Our experienced staff will take care of transferring the remains and refrigerating the unembalmed remains. We’ll provide you with a utility vehicle and a plastic urn. Our team will also help with the online obituary listing and Eternity’s Touch™ Fingerprinting.
Cremation Followed by Memorial Service – $3,295 or $69/month for Water Based and $2,295 or $48/month for Flame Based.

For this arrangement, our staff will take care of the cremation process, including the transfer of remains, embalming, dressing and cosmetizing. You get an online obituary listing as well plus the Eternity’s Touch™ Fingerprinting. Additionally, you get a funeral ceremony, but there are additional charges when the ceremony is outside the funeral chapel.
All arrangements include the services of a Funeral Director who will discuss the cremation process with you and other arrangements you need.
We are always available for our clients. Our staff will be with you every step of the process. If you need help obtaining a death certificate, our funeral director can assist in obtaining certified copies. Let us know if you have any wishes, and we’ll do our best to accommodate them.
If you can’t pay the cremation cost out of pocket, we’ve partnered with Moveno to fund your loved one’s cremation or memorial. You can complete the online process to determine if you qualify for the loan.
